Since childhood, i have this bad habit of not studying for exams at all. Somehow i have always managed to score above average without studying or putting in only about 2-3 hours of work the night before the examination, so i never felt the need to “study more”.
At this point i am tired of being just an average scorer in academics, its time to pull off something big. This year’s gonna be big.

Ladies and gentlemen, it is with deep regret that I share this tragic news. In a moment of reckless haste, I suffered a catastrophic grooming incident. Unbeknownst to me, my trimmer was set to 0mm and before I could react, the damage was done.
My beard… is gone.
I now bear the appearance of a stereotypical Linux user, and I am afraid to show my face to my loved ones.

I stopped self-hosting email and instead started using Tuta with ‘Revolutionary’ plan. The reason behind it was that even though i had full control over my email server when self hosting, i still didn’t get that feeling of reliability, since mail is used for almost everything important you would want to do on the internet, i can’t afford to have downtimes for mails, so i made some arrangements in my monthly budget here and there, and started using Tuta with my custom domain. So far everything’s great, i get unlimited aliases with 20 Gigs storage which is more than enough for me, and the best thing for me is that its based in EU. Here is my referral link, if you are interested: tuta.com/signup?ref=WXlBMVY0czU&s=0

AI has ruined all of the tech and IT. All the price hikes are driving me crazy, Now i get email from the VPS provider i use and guess what they are notifying me about? You guessed it right, price hikes. And why is that? You guessed it right, AI.

I don’t know what the fuck am i doing with my German learning progress right now. I got like 232 day streak on Duolingo and yet i don’t feel like i have learned anything significant. Well, mostly i am to be blamed here who thought learning german would be just a piece of cake by giving only 3-5 minutes every day.
It’s time i divert my strategy and start taking extensive notes and writing down 5-10 new words and sentences every day. I remember doing the same for English as a kid in my school. Well that really didn’t help me, i believe 90% of English i know and use, i got it from Movies and chatting on Discord.

I feel like i totally wasted this year’s February. January happened to be way more productive where i learned lots of new things and had unique experiences. Now comparing Jan with Feb, it feels like there’s a lot missing. Anyways, i got big plans for March, i hope it brings me back on track.

Music really plays a big role when it comes to adding the depth to cinema. I can’t ever imagine enjoying Mr Robot as much as i did without Mac Quayle’s music. He composed everything perfectly, there’s a reason that huge chunk of my offline music library consists of all the Mr Robot’s Original Motion Pictures Soundtracks. Same goes for Hans Zimmer, never in my life have i heard something from him that felt normal, everything has to be breathtakingly amazing.

The world has gone to shit. Literally nothing on the youtube/news is even remotely close to being positive. Small scale wars keep happening. Trump keeps playing tariff games with other countries. Chip/RAM prices keep skyrocketing and apparently every country is a debt bomb. AI is a bubble, if it bursts it will be bad, if it doesn’t, it will still be as bad. Governments keep spying on people, protests keep getting violent, terrorist attacks keep happening, communal violences keep increasing, mob mentality is increasing exponentially among people. Is there anything left in the world that’s not absolutely fucked?. Is everything beyond repair at this point?
All of this reminds me of the “Nothing is real” monologue from Mr Robot S1E10
“A world built on fantasy! Synthetic emotions in the form of pills. Psychological warfare in the form of advertising. Mind-altering chemicals in the form of food. Brainwashing seminars in the form of media. Controlled isolated bubbles in the form of social networks…”
“… Real? You want to talk about reality? We haven’t lived in anything remotely close to it since the turn of the century. We turned it off, took out the batteries, snacked on a bag of GMOs while we tossed the remnants in the ever-expanding dumpster of the human condition…”
“We live in a kingdom of bullshit!”

Hosting your own mail server is a big pain, i know i said that i was never going to attempt it again. But i just could not sleep thinking that i gave up, so i again hosted mail server on my VPS using Mailu. Even after configuring everything right with the highest level of security, spam filters still end up adding my ip to their blacklist. Now i have to manually request removal from all of those spam filters to get my ip removed from the blacklist, just so my mails don’t land up in spam boxes of others.
- 09 February 2026, 12:55 (IST) New domain migrationEdit Post
I have migrated all my sites from krolyxon.xyz to krolyxon.com. You might think that the primary reason had to do with the reputation of “.xyz” TLD, but in my case, it was the renewal cost. i got the “.xyz” domain from Godaddy, without knowing that they are known for their notorious renewal pricing. Somehow, now it costs me less to have a “.com” domain then it is to own a “xyz” domain.
- 14 January 2026, 18:29 (IST) Dreadful experience of email self-hostingEdit Post
I am never ever going to attempt self-hosting email-server again. I spent 6 hours setting up all postfix, DKIM, DMARC, TLS. While doing so everything had to go wrong, like it was meant to. After those painful hours, i finally setup the webmail, and guess what? My VPS provider blocks port 25 for new customers… now i either wait for the first invoice to get completed, or use a relay (i won’t).
- 14 January 2026, 12:59 (IST) MaintenanceEdit Post
Yesterday, the site was down for few hours since i was migrating the site to my VPS. Now i no longer host the site on netlify, with which i didn’t really have any problem, but hosting and managing everything yourself is just way too fun. I also migrated all my git repositories to git.krolyxon.com, and all the repositories are mirrored to github. Now, this Gitea instance will be my primary remote git server.
- 08 January 2026, 14:11 (IST) Reddit absolutely sucksEdit Post
At this point Reddit has become a negative PR-only site. Right-wing bots spreading negative PR on left wing subs, Left-wing bots spreading negative PR on right-wing subs. That’s all there is on Reddit, absolutely horrible situation. Subreddits like r/indianmemer are supposed to be a meme sub right? Then why is it all right-wing & left-wing people posting against each other?

- 04 January 2026, 18:31 (IST) Back to rust baby!!Edit Post
Alright guys, i am back to using Rust. For last 8-10 months i haven’t programmed a single line of logic, since i got some free time after exams, i am going to back to practicing rust again. I an making a 8-bit CPU emulator, with simple instruction set with an assembler as well. And if time allows, i might even try making a debugger for it.
- 03 January 2026, 18:18 (IST) Exams Done!!Edit Post
End semester exams are finally over, i partially regret applying for Honors. Its just a bit painful to accept that you have to give an one extra exam that may not even help out in your career.
- 02 January 2026, 18:33 (IST) Setup script for my dotfiles!Edit Post
Added a automatic installation/setup script for my Hyprland dotfiles. Though my dotfiles are only meant to be used by me, i do not guarantee that this setup will work for you out of the box. Going along with my dotfiles, you may have to tinker a little bit and fix some things to get the setup working. (Tip: Use the script on fresh Arch install)
